Pemberton Music Festival Abruptly Cancels Event
Pemberton Music Festival Abruptly Cancels Event: Despite announcing their initial lineup just three weeks ago, Pemberton Music Festival has declared bankruptcy. Originally slated for July 13-16 at British Columbia's Mt. Currie, organizers released a statement on Friday confirming the fest's cancellation. The statement doesn't give much info regarding why the event went bankrupt, but it does outline how attendees may receive their refunds: “Unfortunately there are no automatic refunds from PMF. As PMF is now in bankruptcy, it has no ability to provide refunds for tickets purchased. However ticketholders may file a proof of claim form as an unsecured creditor with EYI in accordance with the claims process. Proof of claim forms will be mailed to known PMF creditors in due course and made available on the Trustee's website. A determination of recovery, if any, on the claims of ticket holders from the estate will not be known for several weeks. The Trustee will provide an update to creditors in due course. Refunds may be available to ticketholders from third parties if tickets were purchased using a credit card. As each bank and credit card issuer have their own specific policies, ticketholders are to contact their bank or credit card issuer directly to determine whether a refund can be obtained. The Trustee will provide further details concerning contact information for the various credit cards and financial institutions on its website.” TL;DR — If you want to get your money back from Pemberton Music Festival it ain't going to be easy. Looks like after years of on again off again, PMF is officially off. 3 Reasons Why You Should Avoid Tongkat Ali
Tongkat ali,
also known as longjack or longjack herb, is a plant indigenous to southeast
Asia. For centuries, its roots have been used for purported medicinal purposes,
but interest in tongkat ali as an herbal supplement has spiked in the United States in recent years. In the U.S.
and other countries, the herb is marketed as a male enhancing supplement that
can increase testosterone, boosting both muscle mass and the libido. While this
may appeal to many men, there are several dangerous side effects that may occur
when taking tongkat ali. Here are three reasons why this herb should be
avoided at all
costs:
1. Cancer Risks - Tongkat ali boosts
testosterone production, which can exacerbate symptoms in people with cancer
and other conditions. People with prostate and breast cancer, heart disease,
liver disease, diabetes, sleep apnea and kidney problems may find their
symptoms are worsened and recovery is slowed when taking tongkat ali. The
supplement may also interfere with treatments for these diseases.
2. Lowered Immunity and Increased Body
Temperature - People taking tongkat ali may experience weakened immune systems,
making them more susceptible to infection and illness. The herb may also interact with certain
medications, lessening their effectiveness for combating illness. Additionally,
studies have also shown that tongkat ali can cause an increase in body
temperature. While not necessarily dangerous, this can be uncomfortable when it
is experienced for prolonged periods.
3. Psychological Effects - People taking
tongkat ali supplements have also reported numerous psychological effects, including
increased stress, anxiety and restlessness, as well as insomnia. Over time,
these conditions will negatively impact a person’s mental and physical health,
which may result in other health conditions occurring. Another side effect
associated with tongkat ali is increased aggression due to the testosterone
boost. Mood swings, impatience, and a shortened temper have all been reported
with the supplement.

Eleuthero: Is it Really Safe?
When
it comes to detox products, it may seem
difficult to assess the pros and cons. Which ingredients are safe? Which are
effective? At what point do potential side effects outweigh the supposed benefits?
In
some cases, the evidence of risk is so distinct that it's hard to imagine why
anyone would subject their body to such danger in search of unproven gain. One
such ingredient is eleuthero, sometimes known as Siberian ginseng.
Available
in the United States as an unregulated Chinese import since 1976, eleuthero
falls into a gray area between food and medicine. It isn't held to
Environmental Protection Agency's guidelines that limit pesticide
residue—private research found that 12 out of 22 eleuthero products contained
toxic fungicides, and yet it's still on the market. It doesn't undergo United
States Department of Agriculture inspection for pathogens such as E. coli and
salmonella, a standard to which even fast food hamburgers are subjected.
Importers of eleuthero don't even have to prove its safety or effectiveness to
the Federal Drug Administration.
Eleuthero
plants are not commonly grown in the United States. Instead, they are foraged
in rural areas of Asia, where the plain green leaves and white blooms cause it
to be frequently confused with similar species—some poisonous, others merely
unidentified—and then shipped halfway around the world to consumers who have no
way of knowing what exactly is in the product.
Even
if a product labeled eleuthero is indeed pure eleuthero, beware! The Penn State
Milton S. Hershey Medical Center warns of side effects that include irregular
heart beat, confusion, high blood pressure, and vomiting. Eleuthero can also
interact dangerously with common medications such as anticoagulants, prednisone,
lithium, and most diabetes medications.
Why
take the risk? Stick with detox products thathave been carefully developed using only the highest quality herbs.

What is Milk Thistle?
Have you seen this
ingredient listed on a cleansing product label?
Did you know what it was? It
sounds strange but it’s really a good friend to your body. Read on to learn more about this helpful herb.
Milk thistle is a
flowering herb related to the daisy family.
Native to Mediterranean lands, it has been used as a medicinal herb for
more than two centuries. Pliny the
Elder, who lived from 23AD to 79AD and was perhaps Ancient Rome’s finest
historian, naturalist and author, wrote of the milk thistle’s ability to “carry
off bile”.
Milk thistle has long
been believed to be a natural remedy for liver dysfunction. It’s primary active ingredient is
silymarin. Silymarin has both
antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
It’s a potent ingredient that needs more modern research to back up the
reputation it has earned over the past two millennia.
The studies that have
been performed in more recent times are showing very promising results. Some early research showed that it could aid
those with alcohol-related liver problems.
Another study showed encouraging results for some whose livers had been
damaged by industrial toxins like xylene and toluene. It’s also being researched for its possible
positive effects on type-2 diabetes and high cholesterol. Hopefully, more researches will look to this
herb for answers.
All of this makes milk
thistle an important ingredient for a detox cleanse. Many toxins are stored in the liver and this
important organ is responsible for cleaning and maintaining your blood. It breaks down old and damaged blood cells
and it breaks down fat too. It helps
produce energy so if you’re feeling sluggish, milk thistle might just be the
cleansing ingredient you need.
It takes more than one
system to run the body and more than one ingredient to help the body do its
work. Milk thistle is certainly one to
look for but read up on some of the other natural ingredients in Herbal Clean
products to see which one is right for you.
